Most cameras have a filter built into them to stop infra red light ruining your photo. It is possible to convert a camera to record images in infra red only.
I converted a small point & press camera to an infra red camera. The images are a bit small and grainy but the overall effect is very pleasing.
Wrestlezone's Annual Regal Rumble at the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen.
The rules are simple. Every 60 seconds a wrestler enters in the ring. A wrestler is out of the contest if he is ejected from the ring over the top rope and both feet lands on the floor. Last man left is the champion.
This year's Champion is Shawn Johnson, much to the delight of Sterling Oil.
Possibly the most challenging conditions I have photographed in, and that includes the underwater shoot!
Bremen 1860 are a German Bundesliga 2 rugby team that arranged a friendly match against local team Aberdeen Wanderers.
All sounds good until I tell you it was a 7:00PM kick-off on a Friday night, in driving rain & sleet under temporary floodlights.
Despite all that, the game was played in good spirits with players from both teams playing for both teams! The score didn't really matter, although the home team won but I don't know how many of the home team were actually home team players, it was a good natured game and I'm happy with the shots that I got.
Traditionally, the Silver City Blues hold their club meet in February. It is usually a very well attended meet with clubs from all over Scotland attending.
This year, to make better use of the Aberdeen Aquatic Centre, the Silver City Meet was combined with the Aberdeen University Aquatics Championships and it worked really well.
It was a well run event and an absolute treat for those of us that like aquatic sports!
Today will go down as the coldest day I have ever photographed in and that includes Curling, when I'm in a freezer!
Locos continue to rebuild under their new manager. Keith were up for the challenge and proved to be stubborn opponents. The game ended 3-3 but it could have so easily been a win to Keith.
After the Aberdeenshire v Preston Lodge game, I managed to catch the 2nd half of the Highland League game between Inverurie Locos v Lossiemouth.
The half time score was 1 - 0 to Locos and the soon scored another to make it 2 - 0.
This should have been game over but no one told Lossiemouth who managed to earn a point with a 2 - 2 draw.
Aberdeenshire and Preston Lodge were in 5th & 6th position in the BT National League Division 2 at the start of this game. It was a game both teams had to win to keep their season alive.
Both teams were evenly matched and it was a good competitive game.
Preston Lodge were the victors, winning 34-27.
Strathspey Thistle travelled to North Lodge Park, Pitmedden, to take on Formartine United in a Highland League game. It was always going to be difficult for the Jags to get a result over Formartine and the game proved to be a very one-sided game. A "lucky" rebound off of Formartine's 'keeper gave the Jags a consolation goal late in the game but they still lost 2 - 1.
Local Masters swimming club, the Silver City Blues, wanted to produce a calendar to sell in aid of charity, Water Aid and Anchor. Naturally, yours truly, volunteered to take the photographs! About 3 hours was spent in the water to get these photos. It was a very steep learning curve but good fun. Next years should be easier!
